Happy Thanksgiving! This past week has been really busy for me and full of many events I've been dying to get on here and make a post about.
If anyone was following last night on TMZ on FOX they aired a story about one of my models Ryan Berry, and his recent successes. (You can read about the story on TMZ.com)
I was lucky enough to work with Ryan Berry on a 16 page spread and cover for an upcoming issue of DNA. After 4 photoshoots, I can say there is much more to come. None of those photos have yet to published anywhere, but check back for those : )
Additionally Ryan was also chosen as a finalist in the search for the next Armani Exchange underwear model. You can help him out by voting for him on the website. ( http://www.armaniexchange.com )
Back when I lived in Palm Springs I was heading into town to go the gallery early in the morning. On the side of the road I noticed a rainbow behind a row of wind farms. All I can really remember about the day is that is was unusually windy and that is wasn't raining. I didn't give it much time at the thought but took the photos and later submitted them to some local news organizations who posted them.
Yesterday I was contacted by prominent meteorologist Walter Lyon about the photos. The images are, in fact, photos of an extremely rare phenomenon called a sandbow. The optical effect was produced by vast quantities of sand in the atmosphere kicked up by very strong winds. There is only one previous report of this phenomenon in the scientific literature, and these are the first known photos in history.
The full article will be coming up in an issue of Weatherwise Magazine in which I'll post follow up info, but just wanted to share.
